Life Groups are an exciting new type of group where we, as a church, strive to resemble the kinds of relationships we are commanded to have in the Bible. Life Groups are not a traditional group or Bible study that you may be familiar with, but are instead a no-strings-attached way to fellowship with one another in a casual environment. Each group is lead by a host family who will open their homes and provide dinner, and each session will include uplifting discussion and will end with prayer over one another. And, each group will only meet 5 times over the summer to best accommodate your summer plans.

Why should I join a Life Group?
Did you know that Jesus, just before his crucifixion while he was in the Garden of Gethsemane, took the time to specifically pray for you? He prayed that:

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me” (John 17:20-23).

Jesus prayed that we would be a family who has “complete unity” with one another, unity as close as the unity between Jesus and God the Father. He also prayed that this unity alone would be enough to show unbelievers that God sent Jesus to the world because he loves them. Can you imagine, without saying a single word, someone putting their faith in Jesus just by seeing the unity that you have with other believers? I believe that this unity that Jesus prayed that we would have with one another is possible for us to have today. We cannot settle for the kind of unity that the world provides at the gym, water cooler, classroom, bar, or even in non-believing families. As Christians, we have the ability to enjoy “complete unity,” so let’s pursue it together! Life Groups are a place where you can strive for this kind of unity with like-minded believers.

You can sign up for a Life Group by simply clicking the link below, or by signing up in person during church. You will be able to sign up for Life Groups during the entire month of May, but be aware that the groups are starting as soon as May 9th.
